About The Author

Ann Akinnuoye is a first-generation Nigerian daughter and one of eight children in a uniquely blended family. She moved to the United States at the age of four. At the age of nine, she lost her father who served as her safe place. This unexpected loss set the foundation for her relationship with God, her deep desire to understand people, and her view of the world around her.

From a young age she has always had a direct and bold personality-a blessing and, sometimes, a curse both personally and professionally. Her journey to becoming a multifaceted marketing executive, investor, creative, and author has never been linear. From her start in finance to creating and leading award-winning campaigns and initiatives for some of the world's biggest Fortune 500 companies, she has had to constantly and intentionally pivot throughout uncharted waters. Ann Akinnuoye has a desire to understand the "WHY" behind people and brands. This has allowed her to wear many hats across organizations that require not just strategy but exceptional execution. A big part of her personal and professional brand has been built around her ability to deliver with excellence, be accountable and consistent.

Her point of view may not always be easy to hear, but it's always rooted in ensuring the people and organizations she works with are setting themselves up to not only deliver but to deliver with integrity. She adamantly believes good business always starts with good people; you cannot separate the two. Through many varied life experiences, Ann has realized, at the core, we all need and desire love. She understands the power we each have, and how frequently that power is given away due to the lack of accountability. Ann has been on a never-ending journey of living in her truth while also learning to give people the same grace God continues to give her. To stay connected with Ann please visit Akinconsults.com.

About The Book

What was the last lie you told someone, better yet, what was the last lie you told yourself?

With every lie, excuse, or broken boundary we give away our control and power. Yes, It's You explores how the lack of accountability, not the need for more love or self-care is at the root of failed goals and damaged relationships.

When we confuse fault with responsibility, we sidestep pivotal conversations and decisions. By giving others power over our hurt, we unknowingly surrender our ability to heal and grow. This book is your call to reclaim your life-not through affirmations or burying past mistakes, but by owning every decision, reaction, and relationship, and choosing to do better.

Drawing from her experiences as a recovering people-pleaser and keen observer of human behavior, Ann Akinnuoye explores the consequences of avoiding accountability. In a world where playing the victim is often rewarded, she challenges us to shift from blame to fact-based self-reflection and shows that transformation can happen when we stop being victims and start being responsible.

Yes, It's You is the needed wake-up call that inspires readers to start their own journey of self-discovery through radical honesty and accountability. It's time to take back your power, your happiness, and your life. Are you ready?
